Terms of Service

By using Walima ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The Service is operated by Walima ("we," "us," "our").

Walima is a web-based premarital compatibility quiz for Muslims considering marriage. The Service consists of:

• A priorities assessment tailored to your gender
• A personalized compatibility quiz generated based on both parties' priorities
• An AI-generated compatibility report with insights grounded in Islamic scholarship

You must be at least 18 years of age to use this Service. By using the Service, you represent that you are of legal age to form a binding agreement.

This is the most important term.

The Service is a conversation tool, not a fatwa, religious ruling, professional diagnosis, psychological assessment, or substitute for premarital counseling. The compatibility report is generated by AI (Anthropic Claude for source selection, OpenAI GPT for insights) using a knowledge base of Islamic texts, but it is not reviewed by a scholar for your specific situation.

We strongly recommend discussing the results with your wali, a qualified imam, or a licensed marriage counselor before making any decisions based on this report.

We are not responsible for any decisions made based on the information in the report.

• The Service costs a one-time fee of $9 per quiz (pricing may vary by region).
• Payment is processed securely via Stripe. We do not store credit card information.
• The person who creates the quiz pays. The other party participates at no cost.

• Full refund available within 14 days if the quiz has not been completed by both parties.
• Once both parties have completed the quiz and the report has been generated, no refunds are available.
• To request a refund, contact us at support@olana.dev.

• Incomplete quizzes expire 30 days after creation. All associated data is permanently deleted at expiration.
• Completed reports are available for 72 hours after generation. After expiration, the report link stops working and data is permanently deleted.
• Download the PDF version of your report if you wish to retain it beyond 72 hours.

• Women are required to designate a wali who will receive a copy of the report. Men may optionally include a wali.
• The quiz creator may optionally add one additional viewer (imam, marriage counselor, or family member).
• The other party is informed of all designated viewers before they begin the quiz. By completing the quiz, both parties consent to the report being shared with the disclosed viewers.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any purpose other than genuine premarital compatibility assessment
• Provide false information about your identity or gender
• Invite someone to take the quiz without their knowledge or consent
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract the quiz questions or AI prompts
• Share, reproduce, or distribute the report content commercially
• Use the Service to harass, pressure, or manipulate another person

The quiz questions, AI prompts, knowledge base, report format, and website design are the intellectual property of Walima. Your compatibility report is generated for your personal use and may be shared with your wali, counselor, or family as intended.

Your privacy is central to our Service. Please review our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your data, including our zero-retention architecture and encryption practices.

• The compatibility report is generated by AI (Anthropic Claude for Islamic source selection, OpenAI GPT for question generation and insights) using a knowledge base of Quranic guidance (Mustafa Khattab translation), authenticated hadith (Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim), and other recognized collections.
• Despite our best efforts to ensure accuracy, AI can make errors. All Quranic and hadith citations in the report are verified against our knowledge base, but we do not guarantee the absence of errors.
• Insights labeled "Scholar-Grounded" are backed by specific sources from the knowledge base. Insights labeled "General Guidance" are practical advice without specific Islamic citation.
• The report should not be treated as a religious ruling (fatwa). Consult qualified scholars for religious guidance specific to your situation.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Walima shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to decisions made based on the compatibility report.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the quiz ($9).

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Walima from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

We reserve the right to refuse service or terminate access to anyone who violates these Terms or uses the Service in a manner we deem inappropriate.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to active users. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of the applicable jurisdiction.
